About the Picosure laser

For the past 20 year’s the gold standard for laser tattoo removal has been the Q-Switch nanosecond laser technology, but, not anymore. The Picosure Alexandrite laser by Cynosure is the world’s first picosecond laser, this state of the art technology has revolutionised tattoo removal. The Picosure laser has a pulse duration of 750 picoseconds compared to a Q-switch Nd:YAG laser, which has a pulse duration of 5000 picoseconds. This much shorter pulse duration takes advantage of photomechanical impact/stress (instead of heat) to shatter ink into the smallest of particles. The Picosure utilises the 532nm and 755nm wavelengths to successfully remove all colours without a problem and has been proven to cause less dermatological stress than any other tattoo removal laser on the market today.
